Metamora Films, a film distributor that collaborates with independent filmmakers, is pleased to announce that it is now distributing films related to America’s troubled criminal justice system. The service will enable creatives in this space to access various methods to get their productions seen alongside release strategy and logistics.
Partnering with Filmmakers
The company’s mission, along with its CEO and filmmaker, Matt Duhamel, is to partner with independent filmmakers to distribute thought-provoking content about the U.S. criminal justice landscape. Metamora Films wants to connect documentary filmmakers with diverse audiences through professional methods, including educational outreach, digital video-on-demand, and grassroots screenings. The campaign will target numerous institutions, including libraries, schools, universities, and community organizations, aiming to help more people explore this challenging topic.
“Metamora Films is excited to be taking on this role to help creatives distribute films about America’s criminal justice system, enhancing their outreach and highlighting critical issues that remain in prisons and courts,” Matt Duhamel explains. “We want to ensure that these narratives reach as many viewers as possible for maximum impact.”
Metamora Film Festival
To further develop its reach, Metamora Films is also working on a hybrid (on-location and virtual) film festival with filmmaker Q&As and online screenings for its exclusive audience. The festival is designed to attract more people to the brand and work alongside the planned in-person events, making the event more accessible to a global audience. Metamora Films will use its forged partnerships with educational institutions along with Video on Demand (VOD) leaders like Tubi, Amazon Prime, and Vimeo on Demand to distribute its catalog and boost reach.
Founded in 2013, Metamora Films offers live screenings of social impact documentaries along with discussion groups. It focuses on the criminal justice space, working with filmmakers who want to submit their work for possible distribution, and posting relevant details on its website.
