Distribution Guidelines
Film Eligibility
Genre: Documentary (feature-length or short)
Completion: Must be complete or in advanced post-production
Running Time:
Shorts: Under 40 minutes
Features: 40 minutes or more
Originality: All submissions must be original works. You must own or control all rights (or have clearance) to music, footage, and third-party content.
Content Criteria
We prioritize documentaries that:
Tell stories about people affected by the criminal justice system
Offer fresh perspectives on the criminal justice system
Demonstrate a clear point of view and strong narrative arc
Are culturally, socially, or politically resonant
Film Eligibility
- Resolution: Minimum 1080p (HD); 4K preferred
Format: ProRes, H.264, or uncompressed MOV
Audio: Stereo or 5.1 mix; fully mixed and leveled
Captions: English subtitles required if the film contains non-English dialogue; closed captions encouraged
